The Doctor Who News Page just posted this video about the making of the new Eleventh Doctor action figure. That’s all well and good, but check out this shot from about fifty-six seconds into the video:
The Eighth Doctor. Right there. Right fucking there. Look at him. Just you bloody look. I’ve not seen any pictures of the Eighth Doctor figure yet. This is like putting your hand in your pocket and finding a tenner you forgot you had.

And then putting your hand in your other pocket and having an unexpected orgasm.

Pfft, you haven’t been looking hard enough. Try hanging out at the Celestial Toyroom DAILY for a look. One went online a little while back only to be hastily removed. The face is fantastic, the hair… less so.

Heh, before I read the comments, I assumed this post was written by Seb.

I’ll reserve judgement until I’m holding the thing. It does look a bit… off in the screencap I posted, but then Eight’s hair was always sort-of its own beast. McGann hated the wig. Apparently so did the sculptor for the toy.
What was it? The Eight coveting? Or the gratuitous swearing?

For me, Doctor Who action figures = Seb.

Look at the glare in Tennant’s eyes. Is that envy? Is that hatred?

I’m perfectly certain I have no idea what you mean.
Which reminds me, I really need to do a review of the McCoy figure.
PS – excellent post title, Ben.

I’m surprised you don’t have the Time Crash variant of the Fifth Doctor, Seb. The one with the celery. I mean, I have it. Am I a better person than you?
I’m beginning to think so.

No, but you live in a country in which it was far more widely available.

Also: I don’t really care about variants, I just want one of each Doctor, and as many Daleks and ’80s-style Cybermen as possible.

I’m not usually a variants kind of guy either, although I did cave at Gallifrey when I saw the blue-coat’d Sixth Doctor.
